The focus of this exercise is on those issues that could potentially affect the lives of residents, and those that could influence decisions regarding the neighbourhood’s future. There is an analysis of planning documents and environmental policies. Further information can be extracted from journal articles and newspapers, as well as collected through live meetings and interviews in connection with policy and planning groups.

Step 1: Gather planning documents and environmental policies that relate to the surrounding area.

Step 2: Analyse the papers, highlighting issues that could potentially affect the lives of residents.

Step 3: Analyse journal articles and local and national newspapers (it may be appropriate to contact directly).

Step 4: Identify issues for priority.

Notes for facilitators: Access to policies and plans can prove difficult. Analysis of said can prove time consuming and a suitable location for such extensive study is required.
